Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Kibale National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and begin the scenic drive to Kibale National Park, famous for its high concentration of chimpanzees. The journey passes through rolling hills, tea plantations, and traditional villages. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner as you prepare for your first primate encounter.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest and Bigodi Community Walk

After an early breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience. Guided by expert trackers, you will trek through the rainforest to locate chimpanzee families, observing their playful behavior, loud calls, and social interactions. After the trek,  visit Bigodi community and encounter the local life, and then return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation, with an optional afternoon nature walk in the surrounding area.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up with a morning breakfast and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most diverse savannah park. Check into your lodge and enjoy an evening overlooking the park’s expansive landscapes.

Day 4: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Start the day with an early game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, searching for elephants, buffalo, lions, antelopes, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where hippos, crocodiles, and countless bird species can be seen at close range. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The drive takes you through scenic highlands and rural communities. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and attend a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and expectations.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today is a highlight of the safari. After an early breakfast, enter the forest for your mountain gorilla trekking experience. Trekking time varies depending on the gorilla family’s location. Once found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing gorillas in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for relaxation and a well-deserved evening.

Day 7: Batwa Cultural Experience and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

In the morning, enjoy a Batwa cultural experience, learning about the forest-dwelling Batwa people and their traditional way of life. Later, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes. Spend the afternoon relaxing, canoeing, or enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding hills.

Day 8: Transfer to Rwanda – Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, depart Uganda and cross into Rwanda, driving to Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy Rwanda’s famously clean roads and rolling hills as you make your way to the lodge. Spend the evening relaxing and preparing for your next primate encounter.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, head into Volcanoes National Park for another gorilla trekking experience, offering a unique opportunity to compare gorilla habitats in Uganda and Rwanda. Trek through bamboo forests and volcanic slopes before spending one hour with a gorilla family. Return to your lodge in the afternoon to relax.

Day 10: Golden Monkey Tracking and Cultural Village Visit

Begin the day with golden monkey tracking, an energetic and visually exciting experience as these colorful primates leap through bamboo forests. In the afternoon, enjoy a visit to a local cultural village, learning about Rwandan traditions, music, and daily life.

Day 11: Scenic Drive to Kigali and City Tour

After breakfast, transfer to Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city. Enjoy a guided city tour, including key landmarks and cultural sites, offering insight into Rwanda’s history and remarkable transformation. Check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed final evening.

Day 12: Departure from Kigali

After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure, marking the end of an unforgettable Uganda and Rwanda primate safari adventure.
