Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Kibale National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our guide will welcome you and begin the scenic drive to Kibale National Park, famous for its high population of chimpanzees. The journey passes through beautiful countryside, tea plantations, and local villages. On arrival, check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner as you prepare for the primate adventures ahead.


Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest and Bigodi community walk.

After an early breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience. Accompanied by experienced trackers, you will trek through the rainforest to locate chimpanzee families and observe their social behavior, communication, and playful interactions. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and a relaxed afternoon, and have an evening Bigodi community walk.


Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Begin the day with a guided walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area rich in birdlife and other primates such as colobus monkeys. Later, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most diverse wildlife park. Check into your lodge and enjoy an evening surrounded by savannah landscapes.


Day 4: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Start the day with an early game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, searching for elephants, buffalo, lions, antelopes, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species can be viewed at close range. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The drive offers breathtaking views of southwestern Uganda’s highlands. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and attend a briefing about gorilla trekking procedures and expectations.


Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today is the highlight of the safari. After an early breakfast, head into the forest for your mountain gorilla trekking experience. Trekking time varies depending on the gorilla family’s location. Once located, you will spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for relaxation and an evening at leisure.


Day 7: Transfer to Rwanda – Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and cross the border into Rwanda, continuing to Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and volcanoes. On arrival, check into your lodge and relax in preparation for the next primate encounter.


Day 8: Golden Monkey Tracking and Cultural Experience

Begin the day with golden monkey tracking in the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. These lively primates are fast-moving and highly entertaining to observe. In the afternoon, enjoy a local cultural experience, learning about Rwandan traditions, daily life, and heritage. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 9: Scenic Drive to Kigali and Departure

After breakfast, drive to Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a brief city tour before transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your Uganda and Rwanda great apes safari.
