Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or airport, followed by a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. Along the way, enjoy views of rolling hills, terraced farms, and local villages, with stopovers for lunch, photos, and stretching before reaching your lodge.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking Experience
After breakfast, you report to the park headquarters for a briefing from rangers about gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines. You then enter the forest to track a habituated gorilla family, hiking through dense vegetation. Once located, you spend one magical hour observing their behaviors, interactions, and natural environment.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking Experience
Today offers another extraordinary opportunity to trek mountain gorillas in a different sector or family group. The second trek provides a deeper appreciation of their social structure, personalities, and habitat. With experience from the previous day, you notice more details while enjoying another unforgettable hour in their presence.
Day 4: Return Journey and Departure
After breakfast, you begin your return journey from Bwindi, passing through scenic countryside landscapes and rural communities. Stop for lunch and short breaks along the way.
