Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, Kenya

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi. Depending on arrival time, relax and enjoy a briefing on your upcoming safari.

Day 2: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, we drive through the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive spotting lions, elephants, cheetahs, and giraffes. Check into your lodge or luxury camp.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drives in Maasai Mara

Spend the day exploring the Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives, following predator movements and observing the park’s abundant wildlife. Optional activities include sunrise hot air balloon rides or cultural visits.

Day 4: Transfer to Entebbe, Uganda

After breakfast, take a scheduled flight to Entebbe, Uganda. Upon arrival, our guide transfers you to your hotel or lodge near Lake Victoria. Relax and prepare for primate trekking adventures.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Kibale National Park, Uganda’s largest chimpanzee habitat. The scenic journey passes through countryside, tea plantations, and local villages. Check into your lodge and relax.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

Enjoy an early morning chimpanzee trekking experience with expert guides. Trek through the rainforest to observe chimpanzees up close. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to endangered mountain gorillas. Scenic highland views accompany the journey. Arrive at your lodge and attend a briefing for gorilla trekking.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Today is the highlight of the safari. After an early breakfast, trek into the forest for your mountain gorilla encounter. Spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants before returning to your lodge for relaxation.

Day 9: Transfer to Rwanda – Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, we cross the border into Rwanda and drive to Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy scenic volcanic landscapes on the way and check into your lodge.

Day 10: Golden Monkey Tracking

Begin the day with golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park’s bamboo forests. Observe these lively primates in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, enjoy a cultural village experience learning about Rwandan traditions and daily life.

Day 11: Leisure Day / Optional Gorilla Trekking (Rwanda)

Today can be spent at leisure or, for those wishing, take an optional second gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Relax at your lodge in the evening and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Day 12: Transfer to Kigali and Departure

After breakfast, drive to Kigali, Rwanda’s capital. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a brief city tour before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your 12-day safari adventure.
