Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, your professional safari guide will meet you and transfer you to Volcanoes National Park, a scenic 2–3 hour drive. Enjoy views of rolling hills, terraced farms, and picturesque villages along the way. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy a relaxing evening surrounded by the lush greenery of the Virunga Mountains. Your guide will brief you about the upcoming primate trekking adventures.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure
After an early breakfast, head into the Volcanoes National Park rainforest for your highly anticipated gorilla trekking expedition. Accompanied by expert trackers, you will hike through dense forests, following the gorilla families. Trekking can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorilla location. Once you locate a gorilla family, spend one full hour observing, photographing, and experiencing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Learn fascinating details about gorilla behavior, family dynamics, and conservation efforts from your guide. Return to your lodge in the afternoon to relax and enjoy dinner.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Cultural Visit
Begin the day with a unique experience: golden monkey tracking. These rare, vibrant primates inhabit the bamboo forests of the Virunga Mountains. Trek through the forest with your guide to locate groups of golden monkeys, watching their playful interactions and remarkable agility. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Scenic Drive Back to Kigali and Departure
